Yeovil St John Baptist

A large town church, remarkable for being a masterly design in early Perpendicular style - the result of the then rector, Robert Samborne, determining to completely rebuild the church. The work was completed after Samborne's death in 1382 from his legacy.

John Harvey argued consistently that the designer was probably William Wynford who was at that time master mason at Wells Cathedral where Samborne was a canon.
