Muchelney SS Peter and Paul

A fine church all in the Perpendicular style located within a few feet of the N transept of the adjacent abbey church. It has an elegant tower with fan vaulting within. The 17th-century painted ceiling of the heavenly host is spectacular.

14th-century tiles have been used in the chancel and near the font. The 15th-century priests' house survives just across the road, in the care of the National Trust.

ST 427 249, signposted 5km S of Huish Episcopi.
