Lyng St. Bartholomew

The church has been horribly restored but is redeemed by: its location overlooking Saltmoor to the N and Curry Moor to the S at the W end of this tiny Saxon 'burgh'; its tower which is a gem of the Quantock group of Somerset towers; and its fittings.

The bench ends are a fine series of the 15th/16th centuries. The pulpit is of about 1600.

ST 332 288, on the S side of A361 as it enters the village from the W.
