Culbone St. Beuno

Walking is the only way to reach this remote church in its thickly wooded combe overlooking the Bristol Channel. It is reputed to be England's smallest parish church. The interior is cosy with a wealth of interesting wooden fittings.

The N wall has a good 16th-century wooden window and a much earlier (11th-/12th-century) window cut from a single stone. The mullion emerges from the mouth of a lion or is it a dragon?
