Congresbury St Andrew

A substantial 13th-century church with later 15th-century clerestory, aisles, chancel and magnificent W tower surmounted by a stone spire. The Purbeck marble colonettes of the S aisle have been replaced by Kilkenny stone but much the original Purbeck marb

Spacious grand church probably originally dedicated to St Congar, parts of whose shrine were recently found reused as flooring and now preserved in Somerset County Museum.
