Churchstanton SS Peter and Paul

A bright spacious church with much of interest. The lower part of W tower seems to be from the early 13th century. Most of the rest of the fabric is 15th to 16th century including the waggon roofs and Devon-style arcades.

In fitting the box pews, the 16th-cntury bench ends were gathered together to form the front of the W gallery. The font base is Norman Purbeck marble and the pulpit Jacobean with a fragment of contemporary wall painting above.
