Broadway SS. Aldhelm and Eadburgha

Modest church mostly of 15th-century fabric and original roofs. The chancel roof is an unusual early 16th-century cusped design. Good 16th-century pulpit with symbols of the Passion.

St.Aldhelm (639-709) was abbot of Malmesbury and first bishop of Sherborne and a notable writer in both English and Latin. St. Eadburga of Winchester died in 960 at Nunnaminster in Winchester where she was a nun noted for her humility.
